Tree Removal in Arp, TX, at the Edge of Our Route

Arp, Texas, is a town of just under 900 people in southeastern Smith County, on State Highway 135 and the Union Pacific line, with Kickapoo Creek running just south of town. It is about twenty-six road miles, or forty minutes, from Jacksonville by way of Troup, which makes it the northeastern edge of where we work. Arp ISD serves the town. Arp was a tomato-shipping and oil town in its day, peaking at about 2,500 people in the 1930s, and its older streets still carry the big shade trees planted in that era, pecans and oaks that now overhang houses and lines. Outside town the land is pasture, creek bottom and pine. Kickapoo Creek bottomland grows heavy hardwoods that lean as the bank erodes, and the pine ridges lose tops to ice every few winters. Because Arp is at the edge of our route, we batch its estimates with Troup and Whitehouse work.

Why a Jacksonville Crew Comes to Arp

Why Arp Chooses Us

We Batch Arp With Troup

Forty minutes is our longest regular drive, so we group Arp estimates and jobs with Troup and Whitehouse. You still get the Jacksonville price; you may wait a day or two longer for a non-emergency visit.

Creek-Bank Leaners

Kickapoo Creek undercuts its banks and the big hardwoods along it start to lean toward the water or the yard. We remove those before the next high water finishes the job for you.

1930s Shade Trees Over 2020s Roofs

The pecans and oaks planted when Arp was an oil town are now the biggest trees in the yard and the closest to the house. We rig them down in pieces and keep every limb off the roof and the service drop.

Ice Damage on the Ridges

Pine tops snap under ice in Arp every few winters. We clear hangers first, then take out the broken standing pines that will not recover.

Common Questions From Arp

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Arp?

Not on private property. Cherokee, Smith, Anderson and Henderson counties have no county tree rules, and none of the towns we serve publishes a tree-removal permit requirement. Jacksonville's own code only asks that nothing overhang a public street below 12 feet, and we handle that clearance as part of the job. If your tree touches a city street or alley in Arp, we will suggest a quick call to the city office first. Details are on our permits page.

How soon can you get to Arp?

For a hanging limb or a tree on a roof, call (903) 555-0147 and we will give you a same-day or next-day answer. For a routine removal, Reyna usually books the estimate within a few days and the work within a week or two, depending on the season. Spring storm season (March through May) is our busiest stretch.
